A new year is upon us, and many of us have begun working towards accomplishing our New Year’s resolutions. Most resolutions focus on personal goals — like losing weight, quitting smoking, or reconnecting with friends and family. But what about improving your work habits as well?
Until I sat down and took a look at a snapshot of my daily work habits, I had no idea how much time seeped out of my work day due to “mini-breaks” to check my personal e-mail or peek at the latest news headlines. I am going to set a goal for myself to take fewer breaks throughout the day, checking my personal e-mail less often and reducing the number of times that I access unproductive Web sites. My productivity should improve, allowing me to accomplish more in the work day.
What are your work-related goals for the new year?
